Here is a way to get students fully engaged with aspects of the curriculum that they might otherwise think is a little dry and at a special price for primary and secondary education that makes ownership of a Magic Planet a viable option.

The Magic Planet digital 3D globe allows students and teachers to view and explore dynamic Earth systems, planetary objects, stars, historical movements, mathematical concepts, etc. Teachers have already identified uses in geography, science, environmental science, citizenship, history, art, design and technology and maths.

With its combination of moving global images and bright colours, the Magic Planet provides instant impact that grabs students' attention and creates a great environment for learning.

Content is obviously very important and there are over 150 free exhibits already available for The Magic Planet, such as the weather circling the globe, tectonic plate forces, ocean currents, other planets and space, as well as history curriculum specific content from our partner Timemaps. Making new exhibits is well within the capabilities of teachers and students.

Students at The Coopers Company & Coborn School, Upminster, with their Magic Planet

"The Magic Planet has been great. Pupils are fascinated by it and it is always a talking point when it is on.

"Though the resources that come with it are very good it really comes into its own when downloading new materials. Sean Gough [of Vivifeye] has given great after sales service and is always on hand to offer support.

"Not only has it been exciting using it in lessons but it is superb when displayed in public places in the school where children and visitors to the school can see it in operation.

"Whether it is displaying tropical storms in the Atlantic or the spread of volcanic dust afetr an eruption or even simulating the draining of the oceans to see the ocean floor plate boundaries or even El Nino or the 2004 Tsunami, it has many possible lesson uses - it is particularly good for starters and plenaries. It can be used in Science too where there are also resources for viewing the planets and the moon!

"The Magic Planet has been a great success within our gallery.

"Our Magic Planet has been an awesome addition to our education department... It is always a hit and people just can't get enough of it. ... When the science lead teachers see it their jaws hit the floor... I certainly feel that there should be one in every school at each level."
